Need warm prayers for 5 little ones...

@ladybugchickenfarms - thank you. One was sneezing this morning. When the babies came inside, after eating their fill, they all took a LONG nap for several hours. I just fed them again.

They appear to be ok. A little sluggish, but still good!

I haven't heard a sneeze since this morning!

I figure they didn't sleep well last night, being cold and scared.

Sluggish for this group means they aren't running around, trying to get out of sick bay, climbing up my arms/chest/back, and talking non stop.

Their poop looks normal. They aren't shivering anymore. And it sounds like they have a good appetite.

I am so glad to hear that they are having a good day and hope they continue to rest up!
I just mentioned the gist of this thread to
my husband and he said "Gosh I have an idea right off the bat! I wish you'd asked me last night!"

So here's his idea:
He said he'd have dug a small hole /trench on the side opposite where the chicks were and fired up the leaf blower on low.

His thoughts are that the noise and wind would have sent them running out of their hiding place.

Sounds very drastic to me but honestly I would have let him try it. Lol

That's a creative idea! (I couldn't have done it - no leaf or snow or hair blower.)

Was going to put the girls back out today....and the fog has rolled in. I can't even see the pasture the girls would be in.

Maybe this afternoon they can go back out. I have a temporary block against most of the entry points. A creative (and most of my chickens are creative and smart) can figure out a way over it. It's a temporary solution until I can get a more permanent one.

And apparently some of the other girls in the same flock heard that if you huddle under the coop, then you can get to come into the warm house. I put them back in the coop. They couldn't get to the small section the babies were in.

I check under the coop every day now...er, every night? I check it daily. I love my animals. Thank goodness that the babies are doing well. Lesson learned.
