Need warm prayers for 5 little ones...

I have 5 babies (3 ISA Browns, 2 Asian Blues) that are very small for their age, have had a rough go at it during their 8 or 9 weeks of life.

The little guys went under the barn coop and are in a section that I can't get them out of. (I've tried poking with a long pole and one got stuck under the pole. I tried the flashlight, I tried talking to them, I wiggled my fingers at them....and one bit my glove, but wouldn't come out.) It's dark. Windy. Temps will be around 10 degrees - by 7 am.

Since I couldn't get them out and they won't come out on their own, they are stuck there for the night. Besides night time predators, they will have to deal with below freezing temps AND frigid wind. The water was already frozen over when I tried to get them at 5-ish.

Please pray that they survive the night and live to see tomorrow.

Then add to that prayer that I can get them in the house and warmed up tomorrow.

Then add to that prayer that they survive to live a long, happy, productive life.

I am worried about them. The ISA Browns are my favs. They are just so dang spunky and adventuresome! And so independent!

I am staying positive and praying for their lives. I wouldappreciate any extra prayers for these little gals and the warm thoughts for them. Praying they make it through the night!

Certainly I'll pray for you and your little babies!

Do you have a butterfly net or fishing net that you could duct tape to a broom or rake handle? Maybe you could scoop them out one at a time.
Get lots of light under there and see if this is possible.
Don't give up.

The barn coop is resting on the ground at the corner. The space between the corner and the first horizontal skid (brace) is close to 2' long and 1' wide. I can barely get my hand under the barn coop near the horizontal skid. At the first horizontal skid, the barn coop is sitting on a piece of wood that is a few inches high.

I am not able to get a net underneath into that space. I could barely get my hand in there, just past my wrist. I could, at one point, grab a baby by the feet (and did) and tried to pull her out. I couldn't get her body out under the edge of the barn coop in that section.

I can't see under that section with the flashlight. The barn coop is too close to the ground. I did pull grass that was at the area to see better...but it didn't help.

I put two barrels in front of that area to provide some wind protection. I think the babies can get around under the building and under the skids/braces in a different area - the area I can't reach with my hands/arms!

I am so praying that the girls are ok and don't freeze to death! Or get sick and die from exposure!

A loud noise may scare them out. They also may come to food or water if they see it. They may come to a light, too. Something that would make them curious may get them out. Food or water may be the best thing seeing they are going to want both. To bad you didn't have a mother hen to call them out.

I had something similar to this a couple of years ago with a few month old bantam. She flew over to my neighbor's shed and his inside. I was scared that a cat was going to get her. After about thirty minutes her mother was able to call her out.

I know it's super cold there. It is there any way you could use a shovel maybe to make a spot under the skid, big enough to get your arm and a chicken through? Or is the ground frozen?
