I have a tiny sliver of metal in my finger. Hubby tried to dig it out but its so tiny and we are both about blind he couldnt grab it. Maybe I'll try one of these methods.

Also try using ice to numb your finger if you have this problem again.
My grandmother used mercurchrome(spelling wrong) on splinters and quicked nails. It keeps the soreness down.

Epsom salt soaks also helps with taking the throbbing pain out in a situation like this. Glad you resolved this...I used to dig metal shavings out of guy's hands as an occupational nurse and it ain't no picnic!
