Need your help with pipped egg! Added *PICS* of babies!

There are times when some (including me) feel that help is needed. At those times, you crack the lid and remove the eggs as quickly as possible to prevent heat and moisture loss. It's not ideal, but it can save a chick. Some folks believe in never helping, others take the chance. I saved a few that way so I feel it is worth the risk. Just my opinion. You will get a debate going over this topic.

You are right, it shouldn't be opened during incubation.

I had to open to rescue the dark chick due to it drying out....and the pics were taken thru the glass.

The bator is staying closed until those others hatch or need help.

I've had 2 this hatch that zipped and got stuck to the shell before they could get out. I found them in the morning, zipped completely and mostly dried but completely stuck to the shell...so they couldn't get out. Fortunately, they were still alive and peeping and I was able to pop the lid for them. My humidity was a bit low on the first one but was 65% on the second one, so I know it wasn't that. I think the big chicks are just slower hatching and these two dried and stuck before they could flip the lid.

Yeah, the one of mine that had trouble was definitely a large one.

DH just called and said I had another one hatch...I asked him what color it was and he said orange!

I can't wait to see my babies when I get home from work!!!

I still got 2 left - 1 is pipped, the other hasn't

Congratulations!! I am so excited!! They look like beautiful chicks!!

I can't wait to see pics of them dry!! I am suspecting that the father to your dark chick is either my SS or Ameraucana...could be wrong! The only other daddy option is my BO LOL
