Need your Liquid Diet Suggestions for a Rooster

I'm currently treating a rooster for a crop issue. I would like to put him on a liquid diet for a while to make sure that he gets the nutrients that he needs without adding to his crop problem. So far he seems to like yogurt, I was also thinking of trying applesauce. What other items would you recommend?

Just a thought but I wonder if you could use this stuff. I used to hand feed cockatiels and the protein content is 22%

if need be you can add a little apple cider vinegar to the handfeeding food. I don't know what kind of crop issues you're facing, but it helps so they don't get a yeasty build up in it. When I handfed parrots I would supplement it a few times a week to help change the pH of the crop, that and a product called benebac was wonderful- beneficial bacteria, just squirted it in their mouths when they were old enough, or in the food when they were too young to recogonize a "treat"

Exact has a hand rearing formula that works great, so anything on a semi liquid diet. also be sure the applesauce is sugarfree.

Rooster Booster - electrolytes as well in water or mixed with the food.
You can also make a mash from his pellets if you wish.

My little roo has wet pox right now. The vet recommended we try that Kaytee Exact formula plus Gatorade or Pedialyte and feed him by syringe if he wasn't able to eat. So far, he's been eating on his own, but I made up a dish or two of the Kaytee formula and offered it to him and to another hen that's lost some weight during her bout of dry pox.

Neither one of them like the stuff. But it does have good nutrition, and you can make it as liquidy as you need to.

I had a raccoon attack, and my little roo Remus hurled himself against the coop walls in an attempt to escape, and shattered his beak. He was unable to eat with it for about three weeks, during which time I had to feed him with a syringe. He lived off a mixture of egg yolk, chick starter feed, kefir (a kind of watery yogurt), and sugar, all ground in the blender so I could drip it down his throat with a syringe. He recovered on this much faster than I had expected.
