Fix it and Forget it--Kids cookbook
makes 5-6 servings/ prep: 10 min/cook time 2-6 hours
ingredients:
2 1/2 cups uncooked noodles
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup finely chopped onions
1/2 cup shredded swiss or sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 cup sliced almonds, optional
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms, optional
6 or 12 oz can tuna--depending on how much tuna you like
10 3/4 oz can cream of mushroom soup
half a soup can of water
1 cup frozen peas
1) Mix the uncooked noodles, salt, onions, cheese, almonds, and mushrooms in your crock pot.
2) Stir in tuna.
3) Fill up half of the empty soup can with water and add to mixture.
4) Stir until well mixed.
5)Cover slow cooker and cook on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 4-6 hours.
6) Stir casserole every hour or so.
7) 20 min. before end of cook time...stir in peas. If you cooked on high heat, turn it to low heat at this point.
8) Cook 20 more minutes.
***I condendensed some steps...I didn't bother telling you all to use your pot holders when lifting the lids. I figure you already knew. This is a cook book geared for kids but it has some good recipes.

***************OP said this recipe needs a substantial amount of more water so it's not so dry. I think she said she's trying 2 cups more water. Just a heads up so you can adjust. I hadn't tried it yet...just got the book from the book fair at dd's school. Sorry. ****
