Hello members!
I'm brand new here to the BYC, and let me just say it's an AMAZING resource! I'm just as new to the state of Alabama. We moved here to create our dream homestead and go back to living off the land ( :
We are currently building a chicken coop and are hoping to find some chickens this weekend...
We aren't in a position to have baby chicks and are looking for grown, or pullet aged laying hens. I've found some places that sell the chicks, but that's just not going to work for us...
We live in Clay County and are willing to drive! My husband and I prefer the more exotic breeds though, which is why finding birds has been a challenge indeed. We want anywhere from 3-5.. would love some Easter Egg chickens, and Silkies, and any other rare breeds! Any ideas of where we could go would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks BYC!

and Welcome To BYC! X2 on the state thread and if you have specific rare breeds in mind, also do a search and try the breed threads for them in the Breeding forum, you might find some breeders in driving distance not on the state thread. And search the BYC Buy-Sell-Trade forum...
