Jesus, that lady sounds like a nut. I havent had time to read the whole thread but I hope everything worked out in the OPs favor.

I have one rooster and my neighbour has two. they don't bother me. what really pisses me off is his Pyrenee dog, she barks day and night, if she hears a mosquito flying, she barks for half an hour. if you get one of those it will entertain you neighbour

The laws regarding 'stationary objects' in my area says that the mailbox post must break away in case of impact. It would, as it is wood and not concreted into the ground. The height of the box itself is regulated by the postal service so as to be below the windshield so that it would not come thru if the box/post is hit. I'm good, I think. Besides, it was an attorney who gave me the idea of nesting the boxes. Mine is not that kind, mine is just a very stout metal box that I got at Lowes. It meets postal service regulations and is mounted on a post that also meets regulations.

Pyrs bark. Oh, yes they do. Whenever I hear urban dwellers talk about getting one, I do EVERYTHING I can to talk them out of it. Great dogs, but NOT if you have neighbors!

Nope, no clue about the trash containers....a mystery. Now there is another situation. Yesterday an ambulance pulled up and Crazy Lady's mom went to the hospital. For what I don't know. She is quite old and I do know she had some spots on her lungs a few years ago that she did not have treated. My Mom always said that Christmas was a time to care about others instead of just yourself. As much as I hate how Crazy Lady has tortured me I could never wish losing your mom on Christmas on anyone. So for Crazy Lady I said a prayer... that her mom make it at least through the holidays if she is not in pain. I hope for that...I really do.

Let me be the first to add my prayer to yours..

Oh Geez she's loving with her mother too...wonder what the mother is like?

Been there....we buried my beloved mother on Christmas Eve, 1991. I so understand, and appreciate your compassion. It's tough to lose a parent anytime, but to lose one during the Christmas season just flat out stinks. You are really a special person -

My grandmother "chose" to have a stroke on Christmas morning one year, she turned out fine, but it made for an interesting Christmas to say the least.
