When we first moved in here I was out doing yard work.. Happily chopping things up with a chain saw.. I'll be darned if one of the neighbor kids friends didn't walk over onto my side of the yard and take a leak on my arborvitae, which are easily killed by urine.

A good 6' privacy fence is an option. Be sure to check into local lumber yards for rough sawn lumber to save some serious $$. You can get poplar fairly cheap and it holds up fine so long as there's a 2-3" gap away from the grade.
