Neighbor using strobe lights at coop at 5 every morning... remodel fix ideas?

Thank you for your kind words. You are 100% correct on the case. He is actually doing it from his property across the street with a high powered light.
It is still harrassment.

Film and record it and call the police every time to have additional documentation.

How about a restraining order?

This neighbour might need to be admitted to a mental institution for some treatment.

In the meantime you could use some mirrors on your coop walls to reflect the stroboscobic light flashes right back at him.

Can you throw a heavy duty, large tarp over the coop at night, and stick some scrap wood or plastic containers between tarp and the coop as to create a barrier for airflow? I would only suggest this if you are in a mild-cooler climate since the tarp will likely affect ventilation somewhat, but it would help block out light for the time being, at least. Your neighbor sounds nuts!
That's a great idea. I am older so to take it up and put it down on the coop and the run it might be a little bigger than I could handle but maybe I can roll it up and down for day and night. The logs to hold the tarp out is a really good suggestion. Thank you!

I agree. He is being criminally charged but continues with the light and sound. Next court date is 1 month away.
But he is still harassing you and it needs to stop. If you call the police it will just build more evidence against him and hopefully discourage him from doing it if you call every time he does it.

I'd get a couple boxes of those mirrored ceiling tiles and tack them around the top of your coop that faces him. The other sides won't reflect back so he could still fart around with trying to shine a light in there. Or, maybe extend a tile beyond the side facing him on both ends so maybe his light can't get around them.

The other thing I'd do is first get pictures of him doing that, then get a spotlight in the coop and aim it at his house. What's he go

Instead of modifying at the coop, Can you put up a solid fencing or row of arborvitae, a canopy car port, gazebo, shed - something to block the light from ever reaching the coop? Waring with neighbor's is absolutely the worst, I'm so sorry! I won't do it, I have to be left along, I'd move to the country. Good Luck!
I love the mirror and the spot light idea. I cannot do that while the case is going to court but I would love too. I like the fence idea! I have a small yard and a giant garden so I planted mulberry trees in front of the run between our neighbor but I certainly could put up a giant wall around the coop. Maybe I could temporarily find an old used circus tent or car port. Brilliant ideas! Thank you. I'm starting the search.

I'm so glad ya'll think like I do. We have been documenting for over a year and the police are very aware. We have a stalking order in place. Sadly flashing lights is not illegal and proving the noise is coming from his place is difficult. He is being charged for multiple things that he was doing that sadly were worse. You would think having cameras and the law would stop the behavior all together so I couldn't agree more on the mental institution. I document every day. We cannot do a giant spot light, or a ton of mirrors, or a fire hose while this goes to court but I am looking for a way to block the light and still ventilate the chicks. I cannot do anything that is retaliation but I can do normal things and I can defend my place. Thank you for all the suggestions and for the kind words. If you have any coop light blocking and ventilation ideas I'd love to hear them. Thanks again

I'm sure you have noise ordinances, every time he starts with the loud music and noises call the police and report him.
