Neighbors Cat

Well at least Animal Control removed them. I forget who but someone on BYC woke up one night to find a stray dog in their living room! It’s ridiculous how inconsiderate some pet owners are! There are these people down the block from me who have an ex-fighting dog that they were walking down my block without a muzzle while my little sister was playing outside! You know how I found out it was an ex-fighting dog? It attacked my friend around the blocks dog and it took 3 adults to pry the darn thing off the other dog! A dog like this could easily do serious damage to a small child. My sister is 10 years old but she’s petite and I am so upset that the dogs owners were so inconsiderate and stupid! They put children’s lives in danger by walking this dog without a muzzle for almost a year!

I do not like cats period. But, I do not harm them. I do scream and yell at them to move on, -after a few outbursts, they learn to take off as soon as they see me. I am tired of them stalking the song birds - let them stay home and kill on the owners property.

One of the neighbors cats, decided to have diarrhea on my lawn. I was NOT pleased. They also use my raised flower beds as their personal toilet. Sometimes moth balls work to drive them off. Someone told me to put plastic forks in the flower beds - prongs up to dissuade them. I plan to try it in spring.

Some people make safe outdoor runs for cats with things for them to play with. How I wish that idea took hold with all the other owners.

For the last year I've watched my Neighbors cat stalk my chicken runs. (I do not free range but I have very large runs) This cat slowly has gotten braver.I have found it on my runs, on my barn and in it several times. Now it has urinated in my feed room.
:rant
Soon I may have some chicks and Im a little worried about this cat.
I don't want to kill or maim it. But I would like it to vacate my barn.

Any ideas?
I had wondering cats. When i spotted them ( my chicks alerted me) i got the hose and sprayed, yelling NO in an authoritative tone. I had to do that 3x while spraying them with water. Not 1 cat since, ever. I think a good dowsing does a cat good for learning. Best of luck:love

I used to have all the neighbors cats use my yard as a cat litter box for years...until I got a rooster..and never seen a cat there since. I think that all the neighborhood cats had an unpleasant welcome by my rooster at one point or another. You could get a rooster that makes a lot of cock-a-doodle-do. When the neighbor complains, tell them that you need him to protect your hens from their cat. I live on horse property, so loud roosters are acceptable by the town of Apple Valley. Every other neighbor owns one.
