neighbors chicken has close to no comb

hello my neighbor has chickens and he asked me to ask you guys a question because he does not have an account. he has 8 red crosses and 10 ameracaunas. they are all the same age and have been laying for 5 months now. one of his hens doesnt really have a comb. if you know what a 14 week old chicken looks like, it looks like that. its weird and i was wondering if anybody knows whats wrong. ill take a pic tomorrow and put it on here.

It is no at all unusual for EE (that's very likely what your neighbor's ameraucanas are if they came from a hatchery) to have very small almost non existant combs.

Yes. EEs have very tiny combs, and some may be almost invisible until shortly before reaching point-of-lay when they will plump up in size and color.

Ameraucana's (and Easter Eggers) have pea combs. A great advantage of pea combs is that you don't have to worry about frostbite.
