Neighbors chickens are dying!

I don't have much detail about what is going on but I worried about my chickens. My neighbor who lives about 300 yards down the street from us. Which is down wind during winter time. He had 2 chickens die. 1 he noticed gasping for air and died that day. The other he noticed not really active one day and getting picked on to dying the next. Another neighbor who lives up the street from us about the same distance found a quail and chicken dead. Any ideas on what could cause such a drastic change in health to kill a chicken within 2 days? I'm worried its something in the air and possibly get to mine.

Probably about 100 different things. Don't guess. Send a dead bird to your state poultry lab for necropsy and lab work. Otherwise you're chasing your tail.

Thanks @ChickenCanoe , I'll bring that up to them. I'm sure they got rid of the remains already. I didn't notice till later that I posted this in the wrong forum.
