Neighbors dog messing around my coop

I think you would do better to talk to the neighbor and tell them that their dog has been coming onto your property and eating some really disgusting stuff, chicken poop.

Then tell them not to let the dog lick on them. That should do the trick. They will control the animal.

As for you gun happy people, I sure hope when you shoot critters that you don't also get your new car or $200,000 tractor. Those bullets keep on going until they hit something pretty solid. It has been my experience that stray bullets always hit something you really didn't want shot.

Or find a road-killed skunk, scoop it up with a shovel, and leave it outside the chicken pen. When the neighbor's dog rolls in it and then goes home and curls up on the living room carpet for a nap they will realize that he's much better off staying in their yard.

Amen about the rifle bullets.

The learned know us to be serious rifleman and only a threat to what we are shooting at.

Anyone who reloads for 30-30. Here's a good reload to protect your chickens from vermin

17 grs of imr (dupont) 4759
speer 100 gr half jacket .308 plinker
200 cci Large Rifle

Plus if you are a decent rifleman, then you know not to do stupid stuff like shoot where you might hurt anything you weren't intenting to hurt. I've scored 223 on the Army Qualification test, so I'm not to worried about missing.
