Neighbor's dogs killed all but one of my chickens!!

I'm so very sorry for your losses!
I agree with everyone, follow the advice and take your neighbor, the retired sheriff, as a first step. Charges should include the value of your birds, also damages to your fencing, all to the max.
Electric fencing, done right, is your friend, if you can set it up to protect your birds, at least. And don't assume that chickens will be the only targets! Many dogs will happily also go after other species, with similar results.
Most of use have learned the hard way that our chicken housing was not predator proof enough. Again, I'm so sorry.

Yeah, it is hard to learn the hard way. My advise is to ask for compensation (as others have said) And if it happens again SSS:hmm
