Neighbors keep asking for money !!** UPDATE LOL **

I agree with farmer Kitty. To me this sounds like a drug habit. Is the money really needed for gas??? One will never know but if you talk to the hubby sometime you might let it drop that his wife needs gas money.

Yep, that's what it sounds like to me....what else are you in such a hurry to get some quick cash for...probably has her "connection" waiting or something

If she's really down and out, I will eat my words, but for some reason, I doubt I would have to. It's sad really, I know from first hand experience what her children are probably experiencing :|

A person who is really in trouble would approach you in a different way. She's up to something. I wouldn't let her in your house-probably not on your property. We own a campground and deal with this every year. Campers who want to stay a month turn into squatters. They need another month extension because their check is late, or mom is sick, or car broke down. The end result is we never get paid. The nice families hard on their luck we look the other way. We have found out later about some of the others and they were just plain freeloaders. We hate to take deposits up front because people here don't make allot of money. We'd spend our lives in Small Claims Court trying to collect from the others-not worth it. We have become very careful of who we let stay for extended periods now. Wish I had half of the money owed us!

Hi Julie,
I just found your thread, I remember the first time you posted this problem. I'm sorry for you that it is still going on. I haven't read all 5 pg of this current thread but has anyone suggested contacting the law enforcement? Just asking them how they might help or handle this situation, after all, this is a form of harassment and you shouldn't have to stay coop up to try avoiding them. They might even go over just to give a verbal warning and that may be enough. She may have a history of this too that might be on record. Sounds to me like your going to need a stronger hand in this one. Do you know whether or not they're harassing any of the other neighbors?
Just some suggestions to help out, good luck!

I am going to ask a few other neighbors - when I see they are home - I have had to call the police since this morning - her kids are outside taking a microwave that was in the trash and pulling it down the steps to thier house and tearing it with a hammer and anything else they can find- they have also torn up a TV - the kind that sits on the floor in a wooden cabinet( older style model ) and they have smashed the crud out of it - so yea I think a call into the landlord is coming when DH gets home - and I have a feeling we will have two choices - to keep dealing with it - or move

and if we move that is going to be real hard on us - I have put ALOT of work into this place with painting and repairs, planting my gardens , plus the animals are all settled in - and people are buying my eggs like crazy around here.

so me and DH are going to sit down and have to work this out and figure what we are going to - our landlord has other places to rent so I am going to ask him if he has one with less neighbors and more land.

Julie

I hope you have some success with the police, and that you don't have to move because of an obnoxious neighbor!!! At the same time, should you landlord have a small farm...

believe me if my landlord has a piece of land bigger than this one - with less problems with neighbors - I see some packing in my furture ( of course I have to wait till my duck eggs hatch )

Julie

Good luck to you! It is so hard to move when you are so established and totally unfair as well. But on the other hand, if you can find a place that is worthwhile, you will be so much happier!
