Long story short we ended up with a rooster named martha out of a straight run BLW. Loved her even when we found out is was a she not for lack of wishing other wise. Well not only was she a he, but aggressive toward our then six year old son. Gave him two years and then he started to go after me and anyone under four foot had to be armed with an adult or a stick. Well finally in the pot. A couple of months later a neghbor who lives a few houses away 1/4 mile asked what happened they missed the rooster. We never had a complaint everyone loves seeing them in our tree line looking for bug hearing Martha. We have a bantam rooster but he is stuck in puberty and not the same for some reason.

One of my neighbors ABSOLUTELY loves to hear the roosters crowing. I live in the city and i'm not even supposed to have chickens and i have 45 birds which 7 of them are roo's lol

I have neighbors on one side of our house that hates any type of crowing no matter what time of day it is and then the lady on the other side of me loves it.
When the couple next door that hates the rooster complained I mentioned to the lady on the other side of the house that I might have to get rid of him and she told me she would be angry if I did because she looks forward to hearing him every day.
I ran into her at the grocery store yesterday and she mentioned again how happy the crowing makes her.
She said that she brags to her friends that she has a rooster living next door.
I wish they were all like that.

The neighbors closest to me is a middle-aged couple: the husband is the nicest guy you'll ever meet and loves to hear the roosters - he grew up on a farm; the wife is nice to my face but complains and gossips behind my back, so I'm always careful to be in my rights.

My neighbors love my roo. One neighbor, who shall remain nameless because he has commercial houses and isn't 'spose to be anywhere near my flock, tries to coax my roo to be his buddy whenever he comes to buy eggs. Roo's not going for it.
If my neighbors were to ever start complaining about my roo, I'd start in complaining about their cows that bellow for days on end after their calves are taken from them or the bull that's been seriously ticked off for a week now. Maybe the barking yappy dog I hear at night. Oh and let's not forget the smell from the commercial chicken houses.
It's the country. Nobody complains because its all a part of life out here. Some of the old timers keep roos without hens just because they are used to a roo alarm clock.

my neighbors man Loves the idea of my rooster crowing, but he never hears it bc they keep the windows shut 24/7. an my roo is a VERY quiet crower, WHEN he crows. i leave my windows open and i barely hear him. but he doesnt crow much, and only in the mornings. i Love hearing a roo in the mornings, when i was little my nana had one near by and so they bring back fond memories. i really feel for you guys who have nasty neighbors. it really scares me sometimes, as we're looking to move soon......

My neighbors cant hear (My 8 Roos) over the 6 barking dogs the other neighbor has. I've only heard compliments from those who have heard them. We are set back in the hills a bit. We try not to complain about each other. All of our kids play together and we all BBQ & gather together on a regular basis. I couldn't ask for better neighbors.

I was out front last week and the neighbor kitty cornered NW across the street told me how much she enjoyed hearing our roosters in the morning. I hope everyone else feels the same, cuz if someone complains, they are gone.

One of my neighbors told me the other day he enjoys hearing my roosters (who crow in the morning and when I get home) it reminds him of being at his grandmothers as a child. We are way out in the country and I can hear other roosters crowing in the distance...it's a very down-home kind of sound.
