Neomycin sulfate 200mg oral solution dosage

If you have the 200mg/ml then the following should be true:

The book I have says 11mg/kg in birds, so that's about .06ml/kg, I think. Four pounds is about 2kg, so I'd give her .12ml orally, or maybe divide that up and give it to her .04ml every 6 hours. Make sense?

This link might have more dosing info:

200mg/ml means:
1ml = 200mg
.5ml = 100mg
.25ml = 50mg
.1ml = 20mg
.05 = 10mg
.025 = 5mg

Hey Kathy, everything I have read says use for 5 days. Is it ok to mix with baytril? I researched the contra indications and couldn't find any with neomycin and baytril. She only has one dose of baytril left.

It should be okay to switch, but see if you can find and drug interactions with it and Cipro (human equivalent of Baytril).

Ok I just checked on drugs.com and I couldn't find any interactions. That's a cool site, you just add in the names of the drugs and it checks for interactions.

I didnt read any contraindications neither. However as a caution; I believe there would be too much stress on the chickens system, which may do more harm than good. Baytril should be followed up with probiotics for several days, then administer the neomycin. If it were an emergency situation, then yes.

I wish it could wait, but my langshan is starting to eat less and less. Can I give probiotics at the same time?? I know the anti biotic swill just wipe them out anyways, but atleast it's a shot.

Yes, I used this chart then I literally researched it for like 2 hours. Lol, my husband thought I went crazy. I decided against tylan because it can be used for enteritis, but I didn't find enough info suggesting it. I found the Merek manual and it said to use bacitracin, but I also found more information on using neomycin. And it seemed like a lot of people here use neomycin for enteritis .
