Nerve damage in my pullet's leg

Hi there, my 17 week old Buff Brahma was attacked by a neighbor's dog the other day. Ugh! Her feathers were pulled out on her whole back side. No open wounds, thank goodness. She isn't walking, her leg is limp. I took her to the vet yesterday and he said she has no feeling in her lower leg. He said she probably has nerve damage from the dog grabbing her upper leg. She is eating and drinking. He said to put cortizone on the upper leg and then DMSO. He said it might stimulate something. Any other suggestions on what to put on it? Maybe tea tree oil? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Kristy

Sorry about your pullet, but I'm not aware of anything that would help. I can suggest that you use a chicken sling or chair to get her up off the ground while she is healing. Chickens can get around on one leg if they lose it, but having a limp leg dragging might be difficult. Here are some pictures of chicken chairs and slings:
