nerves taking over

Gladangel, I had one hatch this evening, and I kept a water bottle and Misted it, so it came out easy, I cant get my humidity above 55% using Sponge, paper towel, 2 things of water, And stilll low. But he hatched NO PROBLEM

New Zealand! I guess it is the Middle of the night there! I think 17 hours ahead difference from the US. I hope we all have a good hatch!!!! I really just came back from checking them again. I'm also told talking to them encourages them. Does that make us crazy too!!!

Its 3.30pm here kids just got back from school the weather is playing funny buggers at the mo one min its red hot then its raining im like a yo yo opening and closeing vents on my homemade incubator lol its gonna be a long few days

I have been told to keep my humidity around 40% then 65% at lockdown i get so confused everyone says something different

Floating or sinking is not an indicator...you want to put the egg in water and let the wter get still. then wtch for the egg rocking/moving.

Most good eggs do float.

misting eggs to soften shell? No, you'll likely drown the chicken. Nature made them able to get thru a shell unsoftened.

I moved my eggs from the incubator into a make shift brooder hatcher box just a few hours ago. The temp is at about 100 and possibly a little warmer. It is not an air tight box, I have the lid adjusted open with a screw to adjust the temperature and that allows me to peer in and even touch the eggs a little. I mover the water closer to the light that is warming the box to see if that will increase the humidity and possibly lower the temperature for the eggs that are closest to the bulb. I really am trying not to touch them and let nature take it course for them, but I am so tempted. The only thing that helps me leave them alone is that I know they are a little early and should be here for Tuesday. Keeping my fingers crossed and to myself.....

OH My lands, I am frustrated. I went and Took the eggs that I thought were Dead, and Floated back and Looked at them, I think my ducks are still alive. I am done messing with them for now, I hope they hatch, I have handled them so much today, scared I kilt them now,

Thats exactly how i feel after i candle my egg just got to leave the chick to do its thing now i reckon

I have finally got my humidity to stay around 40% for the last hour and my temp 100 why couldnt it have been so settled to begin with then i wouldnt be worrying its to late grrrrrrrr
