Nervous About beginning Goat Breeding

Quote:
regarding the blue eye thing. Many people are breeding white german shepherds, silver Labrador Retrievers and spotted poodles. They can be AKC registered (as long as the parents are), but can't be shown because their coat color is not acceptable. Dog registries are just record keeping agencies and have nothing to do with who does and does not get registered. Some goat registries are that way as well. Unless you are planning to show the goat or his offspring, eye color does not mean a thing. But you may have trouble studding him out because his eye color is not correct for the breed.

Ok, finally, this is apparently on the registration application,

It is recommended that any animal possessing the following genetic
faults not be registered or used for breeding.
NON CONFORMITY OF HEIGHT/CANNON; HERNIAS
(SCROTAL & UMBILICAL); NATURAL HORNLESSNESS;
ROMAN NOSE; FACE CROOKED; DISFIGURING
MALOCCLUSIONS; EARS PENDULOUS; LACKING DISTINCT
BREED SPECIFIC MARKINGS; CRYPTORCHIDISM; MULTIPLE
ORIFICES IN BUCKS, NON FUNCTIONAL AND/OR BIFURCAL
TEATS IN DOES; HERMAPHRODITISM; BLUE EYES.

Can't wait to see the pics, I bet he's adorable! I didn't think you were trying to start anything, I figure if you ever have both, you'll really know! Sounds like you have things under control as far as the breeding, I hope it goes well for you. Can't wait to see his pics, and pics of the kids when you have them!
