Nest box and roosts

Hi BYC friends greetings from a cold and chilly South Africa.

A quick request for some advice from my side.

I have built a roost box and nesting box for my Brahmas, I have one Hen and 2 x 8week old Chicks one cockerel and a hen, I would just like to find out if there is any changes needed or if they are good for the Chickens they are free ranging and the hen seams to love sleeping in the nest box think it's more a sense of familiarity.

In hot weather, the square one may need to be placed in the shade, depending on if it's in the direct sun and how high your temps get.

Would you recommend shade all year round or move it in the summer months? Where we have shade close to almost the entire day. I've only used steel on the sides and plastic back and roof.

You had mentioned that it was currently cold and chilly, so it's hard to know if where you have them positioned are better for winter and you need to move them for summer or not.
