Nest box has two hens

Is this normal behavior as it happens daily! I have 12 hens and 6 nesting boxes! I don’t get it!

The bottom one looks like excuse me I was here first. I heard it was common three of mine are laying and two use the same box but at different times. The third has her own box.

Some flocks share, some don't. Either way is normal.

Sometimes my cockerel and his favorite pullet end up crammed together in the nest. Perhaps one of the other pullets told them to get a room and they took it literally.

It’s so crazy to me! And with the heat here in Nevada (not Vegas) it makes them look so uncomfortable! I do have a fan in the hen house bc they are quite spoiled
