So I have my chicken coop planned out in my mind using an old Little Tikes Playhouse. However, the floor plan is slightly bothering me. I plan on placing the door front faced with the run attached to the side. I saw a few pics where they attached a nesting box to one of the windows. I want to do the same but I can’t seem to find any good layouts on how to make a nest box for the window??? Please help! Thanks!

Here is mine. I made mine elevated so I can walk in. The multiple levels do give more space inside than just the small floor footprint. The windows are wire protected (hardware cloth) and serve as good ventilation/fresh air. Egg nests are inside. I only keep a small flock and PETS only.
I made the roost perches from natural tree limbs.

This is my second one... First one I made only half as much elevated. This one , I made taller so I can go inside easier..
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and :welcome

For those of you who already have a playhouse coop, how are you able to keep it dry? I elevated my roof a bit to allow a little more ventilation, I have 2 windows open, and the door (during the day).
I also added an overhang over the windows and door, but if it rains just right it is soaked (not a problem for ducks persay), but I have not figured out how to have the appropriate ventilation and to keep it dry.

Mine has a solid roof about 2-3 ft above the house. It is about 1-2 ft bigger than playhouse . Keeps 95 percent of rain out. Different story if windy, I'll put a piece of plywood in front of the window the rain is coming in.

Yeah, I am thinking of ideas to close up the windows for rain. Like I said the ducks don't mind, but I like for tgem to have a dry place to head to if needed.
