Nesting box battle

So we have 8 hens and despite 3 nesting boxes, they all seem to fight over one box. It’s almost like they wait in a hasty line! All of a sudden, now we are getting 1 egg every few days, in the chicken run. Inside the nesting box, they will even climb on top of each other trying to fit in the box. Looking foe suggestions.

That is totally normal behavior. Yesterday I found two hens and a duck in one nesting box. It seems as if they think that if one girl likes it, it must be the best one!

We even put a game cam in there and it’s like a hen fight waiting on the box. I think the one in the run, gives up on “the fave” box.

It was posed to me here at byc to enlarge it and make a community box. Say enough for 3 at a time?

Spread out fake eggs in all the boxes to make them look safer/more appealing. Or you could try a community box that fits 2-3 hens at a time.

Yep, one fake egg in each nest box should help 'spread the love'.
