Nesting Box Curtains - helpful?

I started hanging curtains when my flock began eating eggs. Not only did it cure them of egg eating but the birds love the sense of security! I think all flocks need curtains hung on their nest boxes! :yesss:

Might not need them Tom!
But for our girls- they seem to be helping quiet the cackling from our Black Australorp!
So much to learn- and so many knowledgeable people here on BYC! Don't know what I would have done the last year without being able to ask questions and read all the info here!

If it wasn't for this place I would be slumping in a corner drooling.......I knew nothing.....nothing. Now I have happy healthy chickens. All thanks to this place...and the patience everyone shows to us newbies......

I built 5 extra new nests on the opposite side of our coop that's facing the windows last summer, no hens wants to use them until I cut up a dark brown cloth shower curtain & hung them on the openings.

Glad the curtain helped! Was hoping that it would make both of our boxes equally desirable, but, hasn't made a difference! We have 3 hens and 2 boxes - of course one of them is the preferred for 2 of the gals. The buff orpington makes it very clear when she wants the black australorp to get out. The BA takes her sweet time in the box....
