Not just for light but for ventilation.

There should be 1 square foot of ventilation per adult, standard-sized hen.

Turning that false monitor into a real one would be ideal for admitting both light and air.

For ventilation you need square feet, not square inches.

One good way to tell if there is enough is if the temperature and humidity match inside and out.

I personally like a lot of windows because it makes it easier for me to see stuff going on inside the coop, but for the chickens, light's mainly for navigation. If the flock can find their way inside and onto the roosts at dusk each day without supplemental light, then that's adequate light inside.

Thx, it's probably fine as far as light.

I'll keep an eye on inside temp and such but pretty sure it vents enough
