Thanks. You had me worriedIt says low dust so should be ok, but change over if they start to wheeze or have other breathing problems. Does this help?

I like a nice flake of straw shoved in tight then 'bowled' out a bit.
I have a piece of vinyl in bottom of wooden nests for ease of cleaning up broken eggs, learned this when I had a serial thin shell layer, have an extra piece to swap out fast.
Luckily my coop is in a large shed so I have room to store a bale of straw, I made this 'bale bag' to keep it from spreading out all over when the strings are cut.
I also use straw out in the run in the winter and if I get a muddy spot in my 'semi deep' litter.
Under my avatar is a link that says My Coop...lots of pics.Do you have a photo of the coop?
No just the artificial turf nest pads in the nest boxes.Do you use them in the run?
Not at all. Just the shavings. We provide sand in the run though. We built them a cute little playground with sticks and an old tire. They like to take their dust baths in the tire and perch up high on the sticks.Yes, do. Do you use straw at all? I recommend shavings in the main area of the coop, and hay/straw in the nesting boxes.
