Nesting box timing

My Buff Orpington’s are now 16 weeks old. When should a nesting box be available to them ?

They usually begin to lay around 18-20 weeks. They sometimes practice laying a week or so before that, and they'll need a few weeks before they lay to get used to the nests. So soon as possible.

I'd put it in now, especially if they have no issues with roosting.

When should a nesting box be available to them ?

I have golden comet hens.

Got my first egg in January at 25 weeks and two days, no additional light added. Hang in there, it will happen before you know it!
