Nesting boxes

I just used a covered litter box that we weren't using for the cat any more. I put a flake of hay in it and a couple of golf balls, and my hen started using it within days. She has laid in it every day since.

Found many pics of many different types...I happen to have access to 5 gal. buckets and saw some neat pics of them!

Here is the largest group I have seen.

I made mine out of scrap lumber. I started with just four and just added onto the bottom when I increased my flock

I got the basic dimensions and design out of a book

I went to the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store and bought a used over then refrigerator cabinet. They are smaller/shorter cabinets. We mounted it on the out side of the coop with the back of the cabinet opening into the coop. The cabinet doors are on the side facing away from the coop. The plan (when the girls start laying) is to just open up the doors from outside the coop to gather the eggs.
