This weekend we are finishing our coop modification from a greenhouse we have and have a couple questions. On the one wall there are two existing shelves and we are going to use them as poop boards and affix the roosts just above them. The first shelf is about 2' from the ground and we were wondering if we could put the enclosed nesting boxes on the floor under the first shelf? Or would the nesting boxes be best higher up on the back wall? Thanks

here's a couple pics of what I 'had" and will have when we rebuild.

The nesting boxes jut out into my other part of the barn..roost was to high in this pic, we lowered it.

Below, is the new combo, roost (not installed yet), poop board, and below nesting boxes.
okaaaa pictures aren't letting me load,,will try in a sep post

The above is the new one, not yet installed...However, you'll notice and I tested these after my husband built this, it's a PAIN to bend over and under to reach in nesting boxes..soo this will be the "back", the nesting boxes on the other side are 'flush' more or less with the poop board, still have to bend over, but not as backbreaking:)

I like it! We will continue with our thoughts then. Thanks you. I will post a picture when we are down! If I can't figure out how!
