Nesting Hen

We have a hen who does not want to get out of the box. Still laying but also losing feathers. So Sad

Welcome to BYC. Is she broody (wanting to sit on eggs?) Does she growl at you when you come near? If you pick her up and sit her down else where, will she just lie down or beat a path back to her nest? Has she pulled out her chest and belly feathers to sit on eggs? If you sit an egg down next to her will she put it under her?

Wants to sit on the eggs. Doesn't come out of box we are getting her out then she goes back in.. Normally she free ranges all day after laying. No feathers on her chest and belly. Yes growls. Is she sick or moody.

She sounds broody to me. If you want her to hatch some eggs, collect some, mark them, and place them under her. If you don't want chicks, then place her in a cage with no bedding, but food and water, for 3-5 days to break her. I like to provide a roost if possible if the cage is large enough.
