Nesting material?

I like to use rice straw in my nesting boxes
It’s easy to clean and they don’t kick it out
I used to use pine shavings but they would waste it by kicking it out and i would have to refill the nesting boxes more often because there would be little in there after a while

good luck with your new chickens and have fun!

Thanks for your prompt reply. Any ideas on what type of store that I can find rice straw?

We go to our local feed/farm store and they have options on hay and straw. I also use it in my yard for when it is muddy and rainy and it work great
I’m not a horse or goat person (knowing nothing of what they eat so don’t quote me on this) as I only have birds but I think you’d buy the straw/hay to feed those animals but we use it as bedding.
