Nevadans?

Oh Aubrey, I hope Greggors is alright soon!

eggxelent, those are great pics!

I've been lurking again. I got bored so I took on another project. I decided I was sick and tired of referring to "Someday" when I talk about ever publishing a book, and I want to either do it or don't. So a few friends hooked me up with other friends who are successful e-published authors, and I'm mentoring under them. According to one friend (whom I met online 10 years ago, and just met again) I need to establish an author personality because people are more likely to read my work because of ME, even if I don't have the most stellar novel in the world. It's true, you know? I'm currently reading a less-than-stellar e-book because I'm friends with the author's sister-in-law, not necessarily because the book stood out among the thousands of others. So I spent the last 4 hours working on an online presence, creating a website and a new Facebook author page. Then I'm going to finish the rewrite and get the work out for critiques.

That, plus gardening season is about to start. It's been too cold to get out and turn soil, so I've just been looking at online pictures and ordering seeds. Just think... I need to have eggplant started within two weeks! Garden #4 needs a LOT of mature tree roots chopped out of it! Sunny, did you want those indigo rose tomatoes as seeds or seedlings?

Plus we got a new breeding pair of rabbits in Fernley on Saturday. They're pedigreed. I don't know if I'll ever do anything with the pedigrees, but I have them. Maybe Sahara can take one of the babies to show.

PLUS... we're still training hard for Tough Mudder. About 5 days a week. That's what we do for date night... we hit the gym. Weight loss? Nope, not a pound. Go figure, but that's not the goal anyway. I've made incredible strength and endurance gains. Plus, I got 3 more people on my team! (I'm still the only girl. Am I really that much of a freak?)

Is anyone else getting spring fever yet? It seems so far away when we have cold days like this!
good luck on your book venture. I have a friend in minnesota who has written a young adult novel and established a blog, etc. awhile ago for those same reasons. i guess the publishing world has changed quite a bit. you're supposed to have a following before you get published now.

well, with that heavy duty training, i bet you have increased your muscle mass and that really is an improvement whether it shows on the scale or not. that was the same for me when I started crossfit and the powerlifting, zero downward movement on the scale but I did lose inches. Now that my sinus infection has cleared, I was so happy to feel good enough to start back on my lifting program. I started again last weekend. I really didn't move backward that much for having been on the sidelines for 5 weeks. Hopefully i can keep this up and really see some progress.
Missy - you are doing great with your workout and everything else you do.

Eggxelent - Great pics of your chicks.

FlamingChicken - I have no clue???

Elizabeth - How's your kitty doing?

Aubrey - I'm hoping Gregory gets better fast.

I don't normally do this but a friend of mine is very involved in this. If anyone is interested in going to a fundraiser tomorrow night. It's 21 and over only though.

The fundraiser is for the Great Basin Outdoor School. 100% of a $10 donation supports nonprofit nature camps at Lake Tahoe for local children. Friday, Feb 22 from 4:30-7:00 PM. Location is at Ben's Liquorts - 3480 Lakeside & Moana in Reno. Donation includes wine, beer, spirits, appetizers & live music.
chicharo is doing better. thanks for asking! He's still got a few doses left of the antibiotic and last time he relapsed after stopping the meds so I'm hoping that doesn't happen again. He's really getting mad at me when I give him the meds!

They didn't have VetRx at Greens

Cool, thanks! I bred the pair on the first day. (Actually, I took them home in the same crate, and now I'm waiting a month to see if it takes before I put them together again.) I'm still leaving it up to Sahara. She loves the black one from my current batch, but I've told her I'm only going to keep one non-production rabbit, so she's going to have to make a decision.
