Nevadans?

Wow - where did you get a popup from? I haven't seen any (yet!).

It was a cosmetic ad. L'Oreal, I think. While the page was still loading, I got a full-screen popup video. Apparently I had hovered the mouse over the link too long... 2 seconds. I see another one right now for Crest. It's a small video, that says "Hover to see video." At least this one is down further on the page and the ad isn't so big, so I can avoid it while mousing over to click on important stuff.

Oh yeah, I've seen those ones, too. They make an annoying noise when you hover over them and if you hover too long... POP! Right now I've got one for American Standard toilets!

ETA: I don't know what just started blooming but I have been miserable all day - constant sneezing fits, itchy, watery eyes and non-stop flow from my nose.

Amen! All that and my asthma won't let up! This is the only time of year I start wishing it would get hot enough to kill everything growing so I can breath.

Haven't been on here in too long. I will try to catch up.

I've got 4 broodies now. Lots of egg laying going on though. I can tell that spring is here. I'm thinking about doing some more flock downsizing this spring. I have to figure out who to sell though. I totally wouldn't even think about doing that if it weren't for grumpy neighbor.

last week i traveled to Eugene OR on Tuesday and Wednesday for work. It's a pretty area. Really green. This week I'm headed to Fresno Wed-Friday.

I had an ingrown toenail and went in to urgent care on Thursday a.m. since the pain had kept me up most of the night. Well, a little while later I walked out of there without my toenail. I was lucky the dr who was there at the time happened to be the only one at that location who will remove toenails. Another day or time and I would have had to wait for an appointment somewhere else.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELIZABETH!!!
I wish my phone let me enlarge the font and change colors.

Anyway hope you had a great day and I hope this coming year is kinder to you health wise!

Thanks, Sunny! I had a very nice day.
Laid up with a stretched ligament right now. It was snowing pretty good up here Monday morning and the puppies had dug a hole in their pen
Hope you are recovering quickly!
I'm thinking that's NOT us. May have to do some wheedling with City Hall. But like I said, been busy with work...but I'm not going to do anything remotely against code - too much chance of getting reported and it's just not right. Thanks!
I know a family that has 4 hens in Sparks where it is not allowed by code. They haven't had any problems. Just maybe don't get too many. Are your neighbors nice?
The only difference between the two hatches will be that I set the Brinsea for the cool down time which simulates the broodie getting off the nest daily. We'll see if I get a better hatch. I had a 71% hatch last time. Crossing my fingers! Falling asleep as I type! Night all
hope you have a good hatch!
So, I'm testing-running my incubator with a batch of eggs, right, because It hasnt been keeping a constant heat. Ariel came over, and she's totally facinated with it. I asked her to get me a glass of water so I could put water in it. She came back and said "Can I do the first one?" and I'm sitting here like "Uhhh, what?" She she carefully grabbed an egg and went to drop it in the cup of water to 'water' the chick.

I let her pour it in the basin instead, and better alternative I'm thinking, hahahha.
so cute!
Sorry to say I have bad news this morning. I woke up to Leroy crowing at 6am, at 6:15am I heard a very loud thump. I went outside and saw Leroy laying in the run. Not sure exactly what happened but it looked liked he hit his head jumping out of the coop. I could not have had a better rooster than him. RIP Leroy and thank you for protecting your girls.
oh, so sorry, sheryl!

poor leroy. How disappointing.
Imagine if I had more room! I would have SQ everything! I would get ducks and random mix matched chickens that I just kept to show and not breed. I have been looking into Bantam BBS amercuana and can get 15+(18) eggs for $35 from a top breeder shipping included! but he is NPIP so it is complicated and my parents wouldn't let me get them anyway. In order to convince my parents to let me get new birds they would have to be cheap and not at my house with the person caring for them fully willing. I want show birds which are expensive and far away, but I still have my wyandottes LET THE HATCHING BEGIN!

you've got it bad, seth! You better plan on living in the country when you're on your own so you can do all the breeding projects you want.
My little house silkie "Chiquita" is helping me type. I'm tapping keys therefore she is tapping keys! So cute!

how adorable and the pictures are precious. what a tiny little thing!
here are some pics!
Nice photos of your flock.

OK! I don't know how to use the multi post. Anyway wanted to tell you all what we been going through. Our leach lines on our septic tank have collapsed. We had a huge willow tree over the lines...the only reason we kept leaving it there was because it shaded the chickens. Well I guess you can figure out what happen. We have torn up the whole yard right beside the chicken run and their house. Our son came this weekend with a small backhoe and uncovered the problem...but now we have to call out the big equipment to fix everything and put it back. Big bucks, but the worst thing is my girls didn't come out of their house all weekend, and they didn't give me one egg. Now they have been coming out and started to give me a few eggs.....only now we call out the big boys with the big toys to do the job. I don't have any place to move them so I feel like I should move out there with them, and love them for the next week.

Poor baby's just got over worms and now comes the alien invasion for them. Everybody say a prayer for our chickens and our pocket book.

that sounds like a big project. hope your chickens are too frightened and you got everything fixed up.
I'm about ready to move my massage office out of my house, which will give us so much more room! My son can move out of the hallway, and my rabbits can start having babies in the hallway instead of my daughter's room. Not everything is ironed out in the details of my future office, though, and I still have to paint and stuff. Plus, things are progressing well on the writing front. Today, one of my beta readers recommended my most recent novel to the publishing company that I really wanted to get in with. I as super excited and grateful. I've been doing publicity work for that publishing company, so I believe that, unless they think my work is crud, I'm in. So yeah... super busy, but all in good ways.
congrats on getting into your new office soon and the publishing progress!

Ack, sorry everyone's allergies are so bad! And sorry your foot hurt so bad, Elizabeth! I hate it when I have foot pain!

Would it make everyone feel better if they saw a bunch of ducks playing in the sprinkler? It's worth a shot, right?
