I make some divine rum balls, I use about 50 lbs of chocolate ( give or take ) a few bottles of rum that I infuse with Vanilla starting in ohhhh October ( add one more thing to my list of things to do ) and lots and lots of cream.

Let me know if you need help! Just as long as I get the empty bowl

OK I'll be right over. And I'm a Nevadan now...yeppie!!

I don't mind non smoking rooms. Never smoke in my house or my cars. Makes both smell like a stale ashtray.

Sunny I've had horrible and I do mean horrible hatches since april. I spent over $400 from that time until Bill died and didn't get but maybe 5 chicks out of dozens of eggs. The eggs I've been hatching are all from my birds. Still no luck with any shipped eggs except a couple of d'Uccles. I lost one at about 4 days old and don't know why. This other one is sooooooo cute.

I can't wait to start hatching eggs from our birds. I still have them separated, but Clyde did manage to try to mix it up with my FBCM and Wheaten Marans roos. He's very dominate, so I don't think they will be very near eachother at any time.

I hope you're feel alright, BTW.

OH! Tell Steve he was right. Bill was there with me. I stopped to get gas and every wanna be gangster in town suddenly showed up. I looked at my car, watched them looking at my car and whispered under my breath "Bill, see. I really need you with me right now." I no sooner got it go of my mouth and the radio on the speakers at the gas station started playing "Don't mess with Bill." I just smiled and finished closing the cap and sat there until it finished and I was fine again. Best part of my whole day!

Well, *sigh* here I sit with a crying chick in my hand/lap. Told Sunny about it, and thought I would leave it with its broody mom but she started pecking it again this am. Momma scalped it yesterday, so it really doesn't need more abuse. The worst for me is she only hatched two, and one she is taking great care of - so I do not want to pull it. So this one will be lonely till my bator eggs hatch in 2 weeks.

Little stinker already knows my walk and wakes screaming when I walk away.

Hates staying in the brooder and I cannot take a crying chick - I want them content and happy. This chick is always talking/churping - seems to even in sleep

I'm a home schooling Mom too and it can be super frustrating at times. Every time you get to the point where you are about to give up they surprise you and viola they picked it up and have surpassed you already. Try taking their favourite toys and lining them up with amounts from 25 to 35 and if he guesses the right amounts, he gets the toys. It works really well for my boys. They have money down pretty good already. *LOL*

I told Steve what you said, he just grinned his huge goofy grin.

It is sooo nice to know that Bill is still protecting you! I wouldn't want to tic him off, that's for sure! Oh and we are serious about you staying with us the next time you come up. Til' we find a new place, we have plenty of room!

I've never had good luck with shipped eggs either. I've heard of some folks that do but it hasn't worked for me! I've got my fingers crossed for our Am girls to start laying soon. Mine are almost 25 weeks now and even the wheaton gals, which are pretty huge now (by comparison) are still not getting red in the face yet.

Shanyalv that Scandinavian Apple Cake sounds divine! I bet it would be perfect with Ron's BBQ!

I've been contemplating making some cinnamon rolls soon. That is something that would be perfect to make now since the time I spend standing is broken up into pieces, while I'm waiting for everything to rise. I have to say I make a killer creme brulee too! It is my favorite!!! I just can't seem to hang on to enough eggs these days to make it. I've been trying to for weeks now.

This darn egg scare has most everyone I know cleaning me out of eggs every time I turn around.

On the plus side... I'm actually selling them for what they're worth!

Genny, I'm sooo sorry about your little baby chick! Good luck with hime/her! I sent you a PM this morning.

Daegorn I started to warn you about the Marans' folks. They take their topic pretty seriously!
smile.png
Then I thought maybe it was just me so I held back my opinions. They are very knowledgable about marans though! I'm sure it's just a couple of folks on the thread that are setting the tone but they do set a strong tone at times!

Not that any one wants to come to Pahrump, but we have a guest room available!

Thanks Sunny, I have to reed the thread all day so I can keep up. Some times I just skim it...

Got to tell you I love the smilies

Creme Brulee!

My favorite too!

When I worked at the Claremont and needed to make it I always made extra! LOL

First time Bill ever asked what my favorite dessert was I told him and he just looked at me and said "HUH! Thought it would involve chocolate!" LOL
I do make a great fudge macadamian torte though. It's awesome.

hey guys... i had quit getting notices about posts, and have had so much going on... i am NOT going to read through and catch up, i don't have the attention span...

for those who haven't heard through facebook, i had chicken armeggedon in my yard... 3 times in a weekish.... lost about 25-30 birds... mostly my youngers and my flighty birds...
ALL of my polish that were kody's birthday present
ALL but 1 of the SLW i had gotten for the cinnamon queens project....
ALL my RIR i had gotten for hte cinnamon queen project...
3/4 silkies i had gotten just for fun
my crazy rooster that hatched alone on christmas
the roosters i needed to get rid of that were loose in the back yard since i let them out of their cage to put the LF layers on to protect them... (not overly upset about those ones.. lol )
anyway... i don't know what i want to do with my birds right now.. where i want to go with the projects....
i have 5 rouens that are "sposed" to be girls that i got from ideal.. 'im hoping they sexed right and they will be perfect age for breeding season in the spring...
i have my pair of peafowl... if the hen pulls through this what i think is pox she has... (just got my one silkie through it.. but he cooperated with being caged in the house.. i dont think she's gonna go for that... which also exposes all the other birds... but... they haven't gotten it yet when this is the second bird with it??? we'll see how the winter goes...
my little Mille Fleur Cochin girl is losing most of her red and looking like a white columbian.. lol.. i still think she's pretty and i want to proceed with that project.. i need more girls for it though.. i have 3 boys maybe a 4th one depending on how he colors out, and only the one girl.. i hatched another girl, but she didn't make it
i THINK i have a pair of egyptian fayoumis.... so i'll greed those, i like them more than i expected to.. but they're flighty birds, not lap birds..
and then i have this group of 3 hens and 2 roos that are half d'uccle half cochin... dad was MFD, mom was red cochin.. they have the red cochin coloring.. sort of, and the d'uccle body type.. the hens are more light orangy red and the boys are darker really pretty red, both have black tail feathers... i might take the d'uccle hen i have left and that bunch of hybrids and put them in their own breeding pen, and maybe toss in the redish silkie i have.. don't know yet if it's boy or girl.. hope it's girl so i can still keep track of who the daddy is.. lol..

but plans change at the drop of a hat, or attack of a dog, so..... who knows....

and there's still a really pretty ameracauna roo down the street that i might have to go steal.... hhmmmmm
