Nevadans?

No, it didnt have a thermostat, but you know when you could tell by touch if it was too hot? I did that when i turned them. It was risky but i didnt have any other grand ideas and the eggs were a little over halfway done. 8 outta 12 hatched.

i read a webpage where someone incubated eggs in an electric skillet with a towel on the bottom of it....
anything that can keep your heat and maybe hold a little humidity should do....

8 out of 12 is great when you're going by touch!

Yea evonne, I read that electric skillet thing on a thread here on BYC. The gal was from the UK if I remember right. Which means she already lives in an area with a lot of natural humidity. I'm afraid we don't have that here in Nevada.

Got my Lakenvelders and RIRs from them. I'm very happy with my gals. They are very healthy and lay well but I don't show my birds. I'd probably go through a breeder if I did. I'd order from them again in a heartbeat!

if you're looking at hatcheries, my next hatchery order is going to be from myers http://www.meyerhatchery.com/
i
haven't gotten anytrhing from there, but there's a video on their site that shows the hatchery and the owner talking... it's got a great small family bussiness feel to it, and i love that....

not saying anything bad about the others, just putting another option out there..

on another note... i'm thinking of starting a batch with some of my eggs.... will be leghorn/RIR/BR/Banty cochin mixes... i'm interested to see what comes out of the BR eggs... since daddy is th EE with the awsome tufts and beard...

will some of you other vegas people take some of these chicks off my hands if they hatch??... i mean when they hatch??

I would be happy to take any EE/Leghorn mix that may be girls (like if they have green legs)

it would be a good way to check out your sex-link theory. I also wouldn't mind trying a EE/BR mix either.

I have a few other friends in town that may be up for more chicks too.
