Been snowing all day here. Its really wet and snowy outside. Not good weather to do anything. Why must we have 70 degree weather and snow in the same week? ahhh, lovely Nevada. lol

Is anyone expecting a hatch in the week or so before Easter? We'd like a couple more chooks and I'm thinking that they would make a beyond adorable addition to my kiddos Easter baskets!

Thanks,
Stacy

I am so tired of the showgirls being inside! I'm seriously considering knitting them scarves so I can throw em out back...

Do you have a garage? I have successfully proven to DH that I do not need a "chick" coop as they fit nicely in the garage

A larger dog kennel can be used or you can hobble together a small coop/cage.

We have a one car garage that houses our 11 bicycles ( yes, we have one to match any outfit, hahaa) along with all of marks volkwagen parts, so it's pretty crowded in there

I bought them a HUGE brooder tub and put it in the mudroom but the darned things WILL NOT STOP GROWING! I was thinking about looking on cl for a rabbit hutch?

No way, they're way too small still. They're only nine weeks old and since they are bantams I think I should wait until they're full grown to join them with the other girls.

Oh and Genny guess what! Midge is officially my favorite and most tame. The other day I went into the coop to clean their waterer. When I did, midge flew right up into my arms and made herself comfortable

it was so cute! It's funny... My br, nhr, and ee are the girls I have had since they were babies and they don't care for me that much. But the Delaware I got from sunny and your girlie are sooooo sweet to me! Lol, guess my girls don't appreciate their up-bringing, haha.

I forgot that your SG were so young.

One thing I do for my "squab" as I call them - chicks too big to really be in the house, but too small to really go with a flock yet. I have an area outside for them - fenced that the big birds cannot get to, with sunshade and a bit of wind block. Put the squab out from sunup to sundown (or until nasty weather) and then bring them in for the night. This gives the indoor brooder a "potty break" and allows the squab to run/flap, scratch and enjoy the great outdoors.
