Thank you! Since I usually kill a thread when I post I'm thrilled to be in your "master plan" mwwaahahahaha! I can't believe you've been to our town...we're really on the road to nowhere! I own 3 businesses in the downtown so if you ever come again you have to stop and say hi.

Wow! In a small town like Paradise that's a huge chunk of the town's businesses! I'll pm you the next time we're heading that way (it may be awhile though).
I had to give a speech once at Chico State (years and years ago when they had the National Women's Conference there in prep for the World Conference in Beijing) and went a day early to "get my bearings". Well back then it took all of 20 minutes to see most of Chico so I went for a drive to kill time and found Paradise!

Course that was 20 years ago and you've probably grown since then.

LOL, yes it's a chunk in the downtown! My husband was born and raised here and my family moved here 31 years years ago when I was 9. We bought a building in downtown 11 years ago to support "revitalization" in our town. We did a new facade on the building, moved my art glass business in and had enough room for a gift shop/art gallery.....then a wine shop turned wine and beer bar....be careful what you ask for ( you might get it) and now I just want to spend time with chickens!

I wonder if I went to that seminar.....

Thank you for the welcome Eglyntine. Was it an arm and a leg to ship them? That's what I found when I tried to order from a place in CA! The chicks were only $3 but shipping was $40! Plus, I wanted to start with a breeder.

When I find out what I have and I'm looking to fill in for breeding maybe you'll have some for sale! I have one beautiful White Splash with the most beautiful crest at 1 month! I think she's a she..... The woman I bought from breeds for exotic colors so we'll have to see what I get. I know I have 3 WCB (which is what I wanted), the White Splash and at least one Golden Laced. I think I have a couple of Silver Laced and then two that seem to be black with a black crest with a great frost highlighting job just in the front!

All this polish talk is driving me mad! I am so excited to finally have some!!!! I am in love love love.
Plus Nikki even threw in a wcb pullet for me. Mark thought he saw a ghost when he glanced in the backyard and saw her running around, she looks just like the one we lost, lol.

Sounds like fun but I understand wanting to spend more time with your flock. The conference was during the summer of '93. Not quite 20 years ago but close.
