Nevadans?

Well she's a bit backyards right now, she's laying in the run and then runs into the coop and stays in the nest box for 1 hour and then leaves. She is so funny to watch when she does this. Yesterday there was an egg in the box already when she laid in the run. I guess she'll figure it out.

Most of them do. I also use fake eggs in the nest but it sounds like she already knows they should go in the nest box she just hasn't figured out when she's about to lay yet.

She'll get it soon I'm sure.

Gaited Horse how is your brother doing?
BTW how come your title line says "Merry Christmas"?

Aubrey how is Petey doing?

to everyone and a big
welcome-byc.gif
NV thread to all who are new (sorry I am so late saying hello and welcome)

Busy, busy, busy - seems like the year of the broody for me. I honestly do not think I have been broody/chick free since............last year
hmm.png
Currently have 5 setting broodies and 5 chicks/broody pairs

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE chicks, but do you know what happens to them? The stinkers grow up and then I have big chickens or little bantam chickens running around - and let me tell you - a big chicken takes up much more space and eats a lot more than an adorable little chick.

I think this is how sneaky chicken math starts, little bitties who take up no space and hardly eat a peck.

Gaited - Hope your brother is still doing well.

Aubs - Petey is looking splendid, last picture I saw of him. Be proud! It is not too hard to build a little coop, I am going to start in a couple days - I need a couple for the MF cochins (tired of hauling them in and out of the hay shed

I know! They are so tiny and sooooo cute and their little poops amount to nothing and the amount of food they eat is so little, then *poof*, they grow up on you (seems like overnight) and all of the sudden they are work! Their water and feed dishes need constant refilling and the messes they make are no longer tiny and easy to deal with...
BUT... they are just so darn cute!!!

My eggs were supposed to arrive today but didn't. The gal I ordered them from suspected they probably wouldn't make it until tomorrow but I was still hoping.

If they don't come tomorrow I really will be nervous about them since the PO said they should be here today! I so hope I get a call from the PO bright and early tomorrow morning.

Good Morning Everyone! I made ricotta cheese yesterday in the crockpot from the recipe here, wow that was good and so easy that I decided to do it again with a bigger batch and it worked again. Thanks Ron for this great recipe on here! Today I'm making lasagna using that ricotta, my mouth can't wait to taste it.

Aubrey you just pm one of the mods asking them to change it for you to what you want. For GFMs only. I keep meaning to have mine changed but I have no idea what I want it changed to.

I'm so glad that Petey is doing so well!!!

Genny that Ricotta recipe is on post #2116 of this thread. From Peeps. I have it bookmarked now so it was easy for me to find.

Ron did you post a recipe for Ricotta too? I don't remember seeing one from you.

Tyler I'm so glad your brother is home and doing so much better!!!

LOL = I know what you mean, it took me over an hour to find it again but it was worth it and very super easy too! Perhaps this recipe could be added at the end of the opening post so we can all find it easier.
