Cool! Except for the fact that we used concrete risers your foundation looks exactly like ours did when we first started it.

Glad you had a good time. Why did you wear your boots so long?

Awwww man! I'm going to Red Bluff that day to pick up my order of FBCMs! Shoot! I really want to go!

BYC makes my "expressions" of dissapointment sound down right sweet! It's like I'm cuter (nicer) on BYC than in person.

Who are you getting them from? I know a breeder of the FBCM's in Red Bluff. If it's the same one, she hatched the Polish I got for her friend who breeds them but I picked them up in Red Bluff....very nice lady if it's the same one.

I can empathize with you on that! hope it goes fast for you.

I know you can!!!

And sunny I'll think about pictures, lol. The yard still looks like a wasteland and the garage/ driveway look like a dump! * cursing the previous tenant!*

I can see myself with a name like that! I do come from VERY blue collar stock! I also loved Ellie-May Clampett when I was a kid. OMG maybe that's where the facination with critters comes from!!!

5!!!

Ron did I hear you say you were in your 50s at the picnic? I must have heard wrong cause you look like a kid still! Ok like my kid brother anyway (who is 12 years younger than I).

I missed the 6,000th post! I went out to dinner with my family - my nephew was up here from 29 Palms on his pre-deployment leave and it was his last night, so we all went out to dinner. He's heading to Afghanistan (2nd tour!) in a week or so.

Yes Sunny, I turned 50 this year. It's very kind of you to say I look like a kid still - must be the way I dress.

Congrats on the 6,000th post!

I like the start you've made on your coop, Elizabeth!

Did you sleep in your boots, too, Tyler?

Hey Penturner I don't know what you think about Dayton but there are lots of inexpensive places with acreage here, especially if you are willing to put some elbow grease into fixing one up. Just down the road from me one recently sold for $69,000 - 2.5 acres with a manufactured home on a foundation! Even the one's in excellent shape are well under $200K.

Tyler: Why were you in boots for 37 hours??? Hahaha, one time I walked six miles on concrete in boots..ug. Ultimate sucky day.

chicharomirinda, that base looks sturdy, I cant wait to see it finished!! I need to rebuild a hen house, so Ive been checking out everyone elses.

The chick is doing better. He wanted some chicken-on-chicken time, so I put him with some month old Japanese banties (Not sure what to do with them, theyre so small!!) and all is well so far. He's eaten a little, but mainly has drank a bunch of water. Bad news elsewhere though, one of my broodies lost four eggs to a squirl. I shot it with a bb gun, but there are a couple that live here and Im worried about moving her. Anyone know what to do? Shes a really skittish hen (california white), but a great proven mom.

We went out to see dawn patrol, and I accidently sat on a red ant hill, on top of the mountian we climbed. They attacked me man, and it was doubly horrible because out off all the things in this world, I am terrified of ants. I can handle any other nasty bug, but ants really get to me. I got some bites on my neck, leds, and other areas. I was freaking out because it all happened at once, my sister is trying to get them off with a stick and a cell phone light, while Im like literally crying, only she pulled an all-nighter for the heck of it and can barely function so she ends up just jabbing me with a stick a bunch of times. Meanwhile my mom is laughing at us so hard, she actually pees herself.
(In all fairness, she didnt know how bad I was freaking out. All she saw was the two of us bumbing around on top of a mountian in the dark and me stripping down to the basics.) She does that if she laughs too hard ever since her histerectomy (not sure how thats spelled.) We had to go home. Worst. Balloon Races. Ever.
Although since there arent anymore ants on me, the bites dont sting anymore, and my mom took a shower, we're getting a good laugh out of this.

Can anyone else hear the air races starting?

We've got a Nubian, Mama Goat. Her two kids, Creme and Coco which are Nubian/Boers. Toker is a la mancha, which we actually think might be a mini. Muffin is a Boer/Alpine cross, and Jada is just a mutt. She looks stocky, but came from milking lines, so...?

This is the only picture Ive got online, back when they were bottle babies. Muffin is the grey, black, and tan blur, and Jada is the black girl, and Toker is the one nursing. Buck is the dog, he likes the baby milk. He's not being mean to them.
