I was thinking the same thing! How fun would that be?!!
What a bunch of talented folks we have here! This is amazing to me!
Ok we really should get together and do a little test of our strengths and weaknesses! If some of us click really well together what the heck! Let's do a little test show for some community event or something!

I've wanted to get a group together for awhile now. Not sure what I want to do with it but I think it's important to use your talents. Use it or lose it!

Who's up for some musical experimentation?

Wow you guys! Well, I do play the organ but my hands won't let me play anymore. I get scar tissue built up in them every time I type. I'll be having surgery on them once my fingers are totally curled and I can't lay my hand down flat, which is starting to happen. Every time I play the organ my hands cramp up so I haven't touched it in over a year now. But someday I'll be able to play again I hope.

Oh Sheryl that must be tough!!! I know how much music lifts me up and to have played and now not be able to must be so hard! You'll have to come watch us when we get together so you can keep music in your life! Sometimes just hanging with other musicians keeps me feeling alive and connected.

I love watching people play and sing. It was once my job putting it all together. It's been so long but I once also played shaped notes. No matter what the piece was written in you always played in the key of C as long as you followed the shapes. It was really fun, sometimes I get confused when I play from a book with the shape notes. I must keep telling myself what I'm playing. LOL

Elizabeth, I love the cello!! Its so pretty. I actually a litle jealous of it too, lots of great composers created cello music, like Bach's cello suites. There are others but I can think of any off the top of my head, that was just my favorite. Violas have the same everything, and for a while in my Junior year I was all butt hurt that there either extremely easy viola solos or terribly difficult ones. Could you help me someday with my cello skills? I know the basics, but Im pretty rough. I can read the notes and do the fingering, I just need practice, and a guide.

Sunny, that singer smilie looks so angry!! lol, are you an angry singer?

Sheryl, that sucks so bad about your fingers, Im sorry.

I hope the surgery helps when you get it, then you can play for us if you want. Let us know if you need help after the procedure, Im sure we could do chores and stuff for you until you heal. When they do it, is it one hand or both at the same time?
We should get together! That'd be all sorts of fun, I miss playing. I havent really had anyone to play with since I graduated. Im trying to learn piano. I think Im doing alright, I can recognize the notes in Treble cleff, but I keep messing up the Bass clef notes. Reading both at the same time is really a challenge to me. So far I can, so I memorize the song and then play it with out music, lol. Some day I'll get over that.

ETA: One more thought. Sunny, being a teacher once, does it bother you to see spelling and grammatical errors in posts? Because Im pretty sure mine is full of them this time. haha, just a curios moment.

Right now my right hand is the worst. I don't know when they will operate, the doctor said as long as I can lay my hand flat I'm okay, even though it's hard to grasp things. My right hand won't lay flat anymore and I haven't gone back to him yet to let him see when he wants to operate on it. It will be both hands though eventually but right now he would need to work on the right hand. My grandfather's hands were all curled up. I always tried to straighten them but they never would bend. I asked him if they hurt and he said they didn't but I do get cramps in mine so that really surprised me. I know I got this from him.
