Nevadans?

Abba, If the lamb already knows what the bottle is for then the every 6 hours is the hard part. well until they want to play with their food. Good Luck.
Greens Food let me get just two chicks, They also had Bantams. So I got one Silver Sebright and one Japanese White Bantam. I know it does not really show off the size of a Serama when it is the only thing in the picture. So here is a 13 hour old Serama next to a two day old Bantam. A standard chick still makes the Bantams look small. I would say the Bantams make a decent golf ball.

DH is probably fearful that you're graduating out of chickens and into sheep! ("I want one woolly one, one baby-face one, one black one....But, Honey, they get soooo lonely. You can't have just one!") Less smelly poo, but more of it...bigger pens, too! I imagine if he gets to hold the bottle during all the tail wiggling bottle-sucking, he might think it's not so bad an idea and darn awful cute. Your friend is trying to get you addicted! (Ohhh, we critter folk enable sooooo much!)

Flowers of Abba – Be careful with your bummer lamb – pet sitting for a “friend of a friend” is how I got my geese.

SunnyDawn – Can’t wait to see pics of the new chicks.

Processed a roo today, normally I dry pluck, but today I got a fire going in our little outside stove - heated a turkey fryer pot full of water and dunked him - worked great and no smell (hate the wet feather smell

) Was windy here - our valley is just wind prone, not as bad as Washoe, but the sun more than made up for it.

Oh I'm so glad they had bantams! I was thinking they would only have standards and they would be huge next to a serama!

HorseFeatherz I'll try to get pics tomorrow.

Congrats Big Bird on the new cell mates. My son's favorite hen is a Silver Sebright. Thanks, HorseFeatherz NV, are you ready for some Del hatching eggs from the Clark County Fair heavy breed chicken champion? Our golden-penciled Hamburg also won standard breed reserve champion. I guess next time I really should clean them up and prep them a little better.

Good night everyone!

Well congrats to you and your birds! Nice job! I don't know about HorseFeatherzNV but I am ready for some Delaware, Welsummer and Marans hatching eggs! I'm so excited! Only, my friend borrowed my bator so I have nothing to set them in right now. I better call and see when they set theirs and when they expect their own bator to be built by. I really want those eggs! What did you just hatch out? That is a stellar hatch rate and I am soooo impressed! BTW, how long does the Clark County Fair last? I'm hoping to go on Saturday. If my friend still has room in the bator I may call you ... !

I don't know where evonne is ... has she moved yet?

Also, HorseFeatherzNV congrats on Big Bird and its new buddies.

The lamb has arrived. Oh he is so super cute. I DO WANT ONE IN EVERY COLOR. I could spin, and craft and......

but he is slumpy

That's the only way I can explain it. They were going to cull him when his mother died but the girls begged for a shot. His cousins are running around with their moms down in placerville. He just kind of stands there off to the side. They let him nurse from his aunt then brought him back up here to the lake. I think some of their children may have been rough with him because he is favoring his right leg...

AND I have to remember that he is barbecue next year if he makes it! ARG the farm life. They only keep one stud from the litters and bring in new lines every so often.

I still want him to make it.

He did bleat and drink the protein milk this afternoon. nibbled at the little grain pellets...

Wish me luck.

Good luck with the lamb.

Hi everybody. Before I put these up for auction, is anybody here interested?

They are BCM roo over dark egg layers (BCM, other marans varieties, and a black Penedesenca) with a leghorn and BR egg thrown in for contrast. I'd sell these to a Nevadan for $12/12+ plus shipping but I need to know tomorrow.

Here's some of the show birds.
