Nevadans?

Hi everyone! Oh man was I having withdrawals yesterday at work. I was going everywhere on the internet reading away. Kept coming back to BYC to see if it was up yet and nope not up so go back searching and reading the internet.

I'm glad we're back on again. I'm going to go through everything and see how it is but I agree with Penturner, it's a bit harder but I also see it's a lot easier too.

I can ignore Sunny if I want to.

But why would anyone want to ignore Sunny?

I know there is at least 1 person on byc I would though.

Hmmm... I probably like the new format, but I am always hesitant about change. Glad BYC is back up and running, though. In the interim with all that spare time I ended up dismantling and repairing two trickly toilets... For some reason both went out at the exact same time -- the occasional drip, drip got far more insistent -- and it was starting to sound like I had indoor fountains. Considering that our water rates are going up AGAIN, I thought I'd better nip this in the bud. Had no less than 5 trips to Lowe's. They probably think I'm some weird hardware groupie. Anyway, didn't know what I was doing, but I sure feel accomplished! (BTW, a trip or two was because the clerk was inept)

I miss the chicks... Empty nest syndrome? But I need to move the brooder out of the spare room so I have some space to do my taxes....which means sorting out the big box of receipts all over the floor. I know I should be more organized about the bookwork, but there's so many other FUN things to do that I just stash and forget. For me, just biting the bullet and doing it all at once is what works. Kind of like housework here, too. (I have a fridge magnet that says "A clean house is a sign of a wasted life.") Does anybody else operate this way?

Your roo's head for some reason reminds me of Mardi Gras!

It does take a long time for everything to come up but I'm liking it better for the Nevada thread. I'm still trying to figure out the other threads right now and how to get the most recent posts.

We do that a lot when we are fixing something or building something. We may go to Home Depot several times in 1 day. We are now figuring out we need to make a list first and then go.

There is a huge difference between my laptop loading it and my phone loading it. I can be patient enough on my laptop but with my phone its literally like mollassas. Id say almost a whole minute for a page to load. One time this morning it took so long for a page to load that my phone just gave up and logged me out

His name is Mr. T because he looked like he had a mohawk when he was growing up but Mardi Gras is a good name for him. You can't see it in this picture but his crest is all multi-colored in the back!

When they get the auction part up and running, I'll put him on there. Now that my Polish are laying he needs to go! I have him on Craigslist right now but would love someone from BYC to have him.

Aubrey, I wonder if it would help if you update your browser. That's what I'm hearing, that the site runs slow with older browsers. Also, others have said their old profile pictures are showing up too.

I just tried to copy your post, to quote it here and the right mouse just shows a black box. Then I went to the top of the page to use Firefox to do it and it's the same black box. I think I recall someone else having that problem too.

I think it'll be good when they get all the kinks worked out, but I really do like it. Really nice not to have to use html anymore.

Wooo we're up! I checked back at least 5 times yesterday. Sure sign of addiction? At least I didn't go into withdrawal jitters each time the Chicken Little picture came up.

I got out and worked with my chickens and dogs today. Normally they run around the garden, but that's not going to happen much during spring planting. So I put them in the yard with the dogs, armed with "The Sound." (Ominous music.) It just emits a high-frequency noice when I push a button. Within two tries of getting "The Sound," all of the dogs were wandering around peacefully with the chickens, with a general attitude of, "Whatever makes mommy happy, that's what my life is about." We're not ready for unsupervised play yet, but I was very pleased.

I've got two takers on sharing a hatch with me. (The original post is a few pages up.) I'm glad... I feel less guilty about my husband driving that way for a few chicks if I'm picking them up for someone else. Did I mention he totally rocks? I'll give it a few days for more people to respond, if they want some, and I'll PM the breeder with how many babies we'll be picking up.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic day!
