love that name

Sunny, 30 days is at least one weekend day for a little more than half of the year. I wonder if you could partner up with someone and sell each other's eggs on your "off" days?

Aubrey, LOVE the buff/blue orp! How do you like your turken? I think they're sooo ugly but I got one for my husband because he's totally fascinated with them. Until we can find him a suitable polish girl, he's happy with a turken.

Elizabeth, your story sounds like mine! My target number is now 20-25 hens, and my husband is drawing up plans for an 8'x8' A-frame coop for the new birds. I think he's excited to show his manly side. He likes it when he can do something that I can't do very well myself. It feeds his ego because there's honestly not a lot that I need a big, strong man for. But they're really nice to have around.

I love my turken! She was a trade with julie for Petey who surpassed her on the ugly scale by at least 10000. She a sweetheart but boy can she talk. she yap yap yaps all day long. She also lays a HUGE egg and i just love her look to peices. I like the ugly ones, lol. I plan on getting some turken chicks from nava this spring for certain.

Are frizzle polish recognised?
I believe so! There was a really funny looking one at the show in november :D

Sheryl i dont upload photos to my computer, I use photobucket instead. That way they are backed up via the internet if in case my computer crashes. also that way i dont have to hook up my phone to anything, i can just upload them straght from it. It used to be easier that way. In photobucket there is a dropdown menu from all of your pics that have various links in different forum formats that you can just copy and paste but this new website will not accept any of the formats :(
Hey Aubrey if you click the button on the left that reads "Source" it will change the editor to HTML code and I'm sure photobucket would have a copy and paste link in that format. Then you click Source again and you're back in the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get for you non-geeks

) editor and you can add your comments.

BTW the pics are great!

LOL! Now, c'mon, men are very handy to have around especially to (1) get things off the tall shelf (2) take out garbage (3) squish bugs. There used to be (4) bbq'ing, but you know what? Cooking with fire is kinda fun! Although I think most guys use it as an excuse to be able to stand around with a beer can in hand. Actually, I do let him bbq, but I do the smokin' rotisserie.
Every once in a while pass off the pickle or jam jar to somebody with a stronger grip.... "Yoohoo! I *need* a big strong man!" Yeah, no man can resist.... Men want to feel needed and love to come to the rescue. Fact o' life in Spouse Husbandry 101.

Of course, the downside of owning vs. renting (for me, anyway) is that every time he goes to the video kiosk he comes back with either cartoons or something with (1) exploding helicoptors (2) hour-long car chases (3) incredibly endowed vapid women in some sort of peril (4) lots of gunfire. No matter how talented she is, do you think I'm going to get him to willingly sit through a Meryl Streep movie? Nahhhhh....

but, yeah, ya gotta love 'em!

1) I'm 6 foot tall
2) We use the privilege of child labor, now that the kids are big enough
3) It's a whole lot quicker to smash it myself than roust him from whatever he's doing
4) I take way too much pride in my cooking... but it is kind of nice to just sit back and let him grill. Then I don't have to cook that night.

We do martial arts together, and when I was a single mom I moonlighted as a nightclub bouncer as my second job.

He's so used to me being independent that I actually had to call him to his "manhood" once. We live in a really old house, so we have to battle the mice every fall. I'm fine with bugs, but not with mice. When the traps needed emptying, I called on him... and he just asked, "Why can't you do it yourself?" I took about 10 minutes to explain to him that I get to be a girl once in awhile. I said, "I thought being a woman was one of the things you liked about me." I'll pump iron in the gym, do all the heavy work in the yard, share in the finances... but once in awhile, I get to pull something really girly like being uncool with mice.

It's nice to feel safe with him, too. Even if I can take care of myself, it feels really good to have someone who is bigger and stronger than I am in the house, who is willing to grab the baseball bat and jump in front of me if we have a problem.

But he is lucky that I really, really hate chic flicks. We're both ultra-nerds, so we usually go for the same types of movies.
