NV thread angeleyes1820! Things can get really tricky in the Las Vegas area. But there are a lot of folks from down your way on this thread so I'm sure one of them can help you. Good luck!

I got the run human door installed today. I didn't have that much time to work outside today and I had to do some readjusting to get the door to work right. It was late afternoon by the time I was done but I let the chickens out in the run. About 10-11 of them ventured out. It was fun to see them checking things out. The first one out was the queen bee barred rock. She is something else. Tomorrow I'll let them out again in the morning. I don't have the ramp done yet but I put a laundry basket upside down for a step and that worked fine for now.

tell me what everyone got at the show.
Sorry you didn't get your silkie. Hope something else comes through for you. Go back a ways and you'll see some photos of what aubrey got at the show.

My news that you missed was I got my first egg on Wednesday. Haven't gotten any more since but I'm sure I'll get more soon. I'm thinking it was one of my barred rocks that laid it.

& the Nevada thread. I wish I could help you with your laws where you are but I can't. There are several of us down there who can help you when they come back on.

Nice to see you here.

Congrats Elizabeth on getting a lot of the run done. It won't be long now until your chickens can go outside more and check out everything. I hope you get eggs again soon.

The HOA's CC&Rs are most likely going to be your biggest hurdle but you can check your municipal codes too for your area. If there are horses that close sounds like you are a little more rural? Anyway welcome to the Nevada thread!

I'll go add you to the opening post now.

Well my move may be going in a direction I didn't want to go. Putting a bid on a house u North near the Oregon border. BUUUUUURRRRRR! Looks like there or towards Vegas. How's that for drastic differences? I like this house. Needs work. There's a barn, an acre, garage with a storage loft and the house is good sized. Thing is I don't really know anyone outside the Bay Area and up there it is going to be even more lonely, but it would at least be MINE! I don't know what I want to do. I think I'll be taking a road trip with a couple of my daughters and my SIL.

Yeah I think a looksee is definitely in order! Make sure to meet the neighbors and find out if they are friendly as well as the town locals. Chicken friendly and kid friendly is a must!

Very nervous. 50 years in the Bay Area and then moving here was a big step for me. I'm going to really have to love that place to want to move there. Plus I have to check on schools and towns. Yep, very nervous!

I don't blame you. Moving here was a huge adjustment. Eventually we got to know the place well and met some wonderful folks but at first it was very lonely!
