How old are the red stars?

I got them a couple weeks ago and was told they were around 2 months, so I am guessing they are now 2.5 maybe close to three months... dont know for sure.

I think the introduction of babies may have triggered their mothering instincts. They have gone broody on you. It should stop after another month or two and egg production will return to normal.

Maybe!! I definetly noticed too of my hens are ALWAYS inside nesting inside now. Even in the morning. When I used to open up the coop to let them out ALL of them would always come outside immedietly to eat and walk around, now those two always stay in for a while before they come out...

What color are their droppings? Are they losing weight? Have you done any de-worming yet? Also egg laying is based upon the thermometer, the hotter it is the less eggs we get. Yesterday I only got 3 instead of 6.

No, not losing weight. In fact I'm going through food much faster now. That could make sense about the heat too. It was very cold when i got them and they were laying so much, now its way hotter. Its hard to describe the color of their droppings-fresh they are brown but also greenish? Dried white. And, de-worming??? Ahh I did not know you have to deworm chickens too!!! I did research online before I got mine and never saw that anywhere... does anyone know of a good link or can explain how to do it? How often does this get done? Do they have the stuff at Greens feed?
