Nevadans?

We have a marans that just hatched out 6 Wyandotte/Delaware chicks. So cute!

One of my Andalusian hens has gone broody too and I think she is sitting on about 20 eggs! I'm going to have to figure out what I want to put under her and toss the bunch she has.

toss them into the incubator is that what you meant

Hi Candy,

I'm doing very well, still some issues here and there but overall good. I go to the specialist Monday to see what the next step is.

I'm so thankful I kept Amanda she's a wonderful mommy. She tried to teach the chicks to jump up to the tree stump today, only one tried and she landed right on top of Amanda. I think Amanda decided to try again another day. It looks like she's trying to get them to her favorite sleeping spot in the coop/run but they need to be able to jump up there to do it.
I am so glad to hear your doing better!

I would love to see pictures of Amanda and her babies

Putting a smile on your face is good therapy! Chickens and chicks have a way of doing that

Sorry blondeNchicken - perhaps Julie will take him?

I feel very accomplished right now. I planted my potatoes and tomatoes, next are the beans and zucchini then that will be my small garden this year. I actually dug the garden myself. Oh and I bought some planters and planted some really pretty flowers:

Thanks for sharing the pictures Sheryl! Amanda looks so happy to be a momma! The lavender Ameraucanas are so pretty.

I haven't found the "right' eggs for my bantam Wyandotte broody hen yet. Now I worry she will be too hot incubating them in the chicken house

It is supposed to be 102 degrees here Saturday and Sunday

I have already set up the misters for the chickens. My covered kennel pens trap heat and my bantams have been hot.

I still have chicks everywhere! Loads of fun and lots of work!

A friend of mine took my two black laced red Wyandotte hens and immediately set some eggs from them out of my BLR rooster. She got one egg to hatch and he is a gorgeous blue laced red boy! I think he may need a home if you change your mind and want a rooster in the future

Hope all is continuing to go well for you!!

Thanks Candy, actually, one of the baby chicks may be a rooster but I can't really tell yet abut they look different from each other so I think it's one of each.
