Nevadans?

Here we go again! This pic was taken at 9am this morning and it's been snowing pretty steadily since then as well. I'll get out soon and take another, better photo.

North Valley folks! Can you get out at all? I've got 19 inches here. Is it heavier up there? It usually is. Break out the hot cocoa!

I found this....

"February 27, 2010, 7 p.m. - WCSD Honor Orchestra Concert at North Valleys HS theater (ticketed)"

"Other ticketed concerts may be purchased from the music department. The cost is $5."

Yikes! Are you in the north valleys? Near the high school? How are the roads? DH works near there and wondering how early to leave for work in the AM...

No pics but we are near the Summit Mall at Mt. Rose Hwy and got about 12" initially. Then it melted down a bit this afternoon. Now it's been snowing again for a few hours. So we're back up around 12" again now. The roads were down to pavement all day around here (except of in the neighborhood). But if it freezes overnight the morning will be crazy

Chickens are not happy...except for one of the POL RIR's (Pip and Squeak) I bought last month, hatched in late August. She was singing the egg song on the roost last night (the other hens were looking at her in the dark no less!

) and layed her first egg today...what a cute little pullet egg!

Is winter ever going to end this year???

I live in lemmon valley, which is kinda close to NVHS. the roads are plowed, but if it rains over night like everyone seems to think it will everything will turn to mush and the roads will be evil. even if it doesnt rain it'll be pretty bad, but you can probably get here without having to drive though any major snow drifts. A lot of the people n lemmon valley just hook a plow shovel to th end of their trucks when they go out, which helps a lot. who's your DH? lol now im curious.

Laceynoelle and Gitlost80 those are great pics! Sounds like you got about the same amount as we did. Here's a new pic from this earlier this evening though it was starting to melt a little by then.

Those rocking chairs look small under all that snow but they are actually oversized rockers.

They say we broke records with this snowfall! We never get this much down here. We aren't super low in the valley since we are in NW Reno and we are quite a bit higher than downtown but we are definitely lower than North Valleys! DH tried to drop an 18" ruler in it to measure but it disappeared.

The snow all fell off of the railing (behind the rockers) when it got over 15" but it started to build up again by the time I took this pic. Crazy weather!

Everyone drive careful tomorrow! They are expecting the roads to freeze overnight and the commute tomorrow is supposed to be a mess! Leave LOTS of room.
