Nevadans?

Thank you Genny and Aubrey! You are both very sweet!
Yes, I love the idea of a blue glitter trail too! It would look like his tummy is smearing the same blue color along his path.

Are we giving you too huge a task Eglyntine? It sure would be cool though.

Maybe you could glitterize just his belly and then the path! Maybe he wouldn't even need to actually crawl then. The smear of blue would show where he'd been.

Daegorn let us know how he does at the show! How exciting! And thanks for the thumbs up on my lizard (I worked a long time on him in photoshop). It's really just a way to procrastinate on more important stuff I need to get done when I do things like this.

Speaking of procrastinating... I left a very long-winded post on your landscape thread Carol! I tried to go back and edit a bunch but I thought most of it was pretty relevant so I left it.

Leave it to me to feel like everything I have to say is of great importance.

Jeeper it's happened to me before! I doubt you unsubscribed. It even did it to me on this thread and I'm the OP! It was when we hit 300 posts and I was determined to be the 300th poster. I really think it was the universe telling me to quit obsessing over such tiny insignificant things though.

I quit subscribing to any of them. I just press the "show recent posts" at the bottom of the page and then "show my posts" (again at the bottom of the page). Works best for me cuz I'm terrible at checking my email and don't want to wade through tons of notifications when people get busy.

I sold my first dozen eggs yesterday...for $5!!! I told the lady that I wasn't sure what to charge her...what was she thinking she wanted to pay? I was thinking maybe $3 but WOW! I let her and her daughter visit/pet the girls and even let her choose what eggs she wanted. So, today, I got an all time high of 15 eggs. My old girls are getting back in business and the new girls are catching on. FINALLY!

Getting some pics ready to show off my new layers to y'all. I gotta be kinda selective cuz with the way I take pics ... well, I'm running out of picture space real quick. I may not post often but I lurk a lot! Wish we were all closer, but I'm not sad to miss out on the snow.

Hi vegaschick. Great news!
ya.gif
My girls are doing a little better but they've still got a ways to go. Wish these freezing temps would go away they might all start giving me eggs! I went to the store and cage free eggs were $4.50! I sold them to one neighbor for $5 during the egg safety scare but she made me promise to sell to her first so she would be sure to have safe eggs.

Now that I'm getting more eggs I only charge her $3.

They go until Sunday and last I checked the Silver Laced bantams were beating the LF mix
lol.png

I go into lockdown tomorrow and this bantam hatch is due the 14th. I am so excited but this weather sure is not cooperating with me, I have young chickens I want to move outside but brrrrrrr........tis too dang cold at night and I worry they would freeze. I actually want to split the group and put the young cockerels right into grow out, but they are only 9 weeks old tomorrow and just do not have enough down and underfluff - with two bantams in the mix, I worry about piling. (course I keep thinking they are older than that, but *sigh* tis not so)

DH helped me move another rubbermaid 150 gallon trough into the garage
hmm.png
I now have 4 groups of birds in the garage. But currently have none in the house

Flrpl's girls till are not laying with any thing close to normalcy. Why I am not sure - one pullet was a laying machine until she was moved and now just a sporadic deposit. The 1/2 english girls still are not laying - I have had maybe 6 eggs total - they are 10 months old and I am not sure if I should be giddy with pleasure that they are late layers or giddy with worry that they cannot lay

hu.gif
DH says they are a worthless pen and we should butcher them
th.gif
Those worthless black birds were many, many, many dozens of eggs that the main coop labored to give me so I could imrove their bloodline. (did I mention many?)

The only good I can find, is an article I read that backed up my liking of late maturing layers - the later they mature, the less egg laying problems they have - it was a heritage article. But I want his pen to start so I can incubate, rotate these girls out and put my blue EEs and their mothers in with him. Plus I am going crazy wondering what Flrpls chicks will look like - crazy

Me too! I want to see what his babies look like!
That's good news about the late layers cause I had quite a few of those out of this last bunch (not the babies of course). My last ameraucana gal just started laying a week and a half ago.

She was 9 1/2 months old!

5 bucks???
ep.gif
Wow! I wish 5 bucks would fly around here! my customers didnt even like $2.50! 2 bucks is about the highest you can go up here. If i could sell eggs 5 bucks a dozen id be rich!

Congrats on selling your first dozen though! I sold my first dozen to SAYM, who is now my partner in our egg production!
